The Middlemist Red is the rarest flower in the world. You can now find it only in the Botanical Gardens in London and in New Zealand. From China has completely disappeared, after it had been brought there in 1804 by the British John Middlemist.

Black Bat Flower plant

What does this flower remind you when you lay your eyes upon it for the first time?? If you look closely it reminds you of a Black Bat! The name of this flower is Black Bat or Tacca Chantrieri. Originating from the countries of the Southern hemisphere, such as Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa. The color of the blossom of this flower, apart from dark purple nearly black in some varieties can also be white or dark brown.   It has a diameter which exceeds 10 cm in length, smaller buds on the inside and small protruding parts similar to a cat's mustache, characteristics very distinct and rare for a flower, that strongly reminds a bat with its wings wide open.

What can I say about this beautiful exotic flower?? Pictures can speak themselves, the name of it is Protea and the origin of this flower is South Africa, whereas now you can find it and in Crete. The flowers are very durable and when you cut them they can be reserved up to one month!

Gold of Kinabalu Orchid

The Gold of Kinabalu Orchid is another one of the most expensive flowers due to its very distinct look! It originates in Kinabalu National Park of Malaysia and its cultivation is very difficult. It grows only between April and May, however in order to flourish it takes a few years! Due to the fact that it is so rare and consequently so expensive, it earned its name as the "Gold of Kinabalu"

This flower originates in South Africa and Asia. The colors of the flower are dark red, orange, yellow and yellow-green. It is one of the most expensive flowers due to its very distinct look!








Parrot’s Beak Flower!

This flower is called Parrot Beak or Lotus Berthelotii. The flower resembles the curvature of a parrot's beak, giving the flower the unique name. It has special appearance with leaves that are divided in 3-5 thinner leaves. Each leave is 1-2cm long and 1mm width. The coloring of the petals is often a dark orange, with tints of red at the tips and yellow at the base. This flower originates in the Canary Islands.
